Rated the best GP Practice in Winchester City for the 8th consecutive year in a row.
Each year NHS England conducts an anonymous patient satisfaction survey which is then published online. Its a great benchmark against other Winchester catchment practices, Hampshire locality practices and National practices ratings. We use this survey to plan improvement projects should our ratings dip in any particular areas.
We are pleased with our overall results, many of which show a significant positive variance against local and national ratings. We were however disappointed that our overall satisfaction rating fell from 91% (2021) to 89% (2022). That said the national overall satisfaction fell from 83% (2021) to 72% (2022). The last year has been extremely difficult for our practice, the NHS and the profession. We have had to adapt and change our practice at rapid pace due to forever changing COVID rules, new top down prioritises and workforce shortages. I can assure you we always try our best to implement change smoothly and in the best interest of the patients within the confines of the rules. We are however human after all so don’t always get everything right. We appreciate that but that’s why feedback and surveys like this are important to hear the patient voice.

Although patients ‘Overall experience’ is exceptionally high at 89%, compared to the national average of 72%, we strive for this to be 100% so still have a bit to do. Thank you to everyone who completed the survey and for those who continue to recommend the surgery to family, friends and neighbours. We track why patients register with us and the majority is through recommendations which we are proud of.
